As you can see the server virtual disk points to a snapshot file – DEV-WEB01-000002.vmdk

Tasks and events

To resolve this, VM -> Edit settings -> Remove the hard disk drive

Select remove from Virtual machine and click ok
Now again open Edit settings -> Add Hard disk -> choose use an existing disk -> Choose dev-web01.vmdk file.
Note: You must know the location of Dev-web01.vmdk file in the first place.
Caution: This will work if the DEV-WEB01-000002.vmdk (snapshot) file size is very less say in MBs but if your snapshot size in GBs, and if you do the above steps. You could lose data.
